Avizohar

Avizohar is the project of composer Itzik Gil Avizohar, working across electroacoustic composition, ambient, and digital processing. Beyond saga.domaine, the album Proof, or (2026), released on his label ORTHODOX, is a cycle of six electroacoustic pieces moving between restrained ambient passages and dense walls of sound.

On saga.domaine: Études for Haunted Pianos (2024) comes from improvisations on old, broken pianos, recorded in 2020–2021 in the studio and live. Approached from a microtonal perspective, the recordings capture the instruments’ malfunctions and detuned states, then rework them through digital processing. The work premiered as a site-specific performance during Maya Dunietz’s exhibition “Five Chilling Mammoths”, amplified through transducers mounted on the backs of the pianos.
